Mr. Epstein is President and Chief Executive Officer of TerreStar Networks. He previously served as director, Assistant General Counsel, Transactions, for Capital One Financial Corporation. He worked for Piper Rudnick, LLP, and Kutak Rock, LLP, representing clients in corporate and securities matters. He served as a Staff Attorney in the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporation Finance. Mr. Epstein earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, a J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law, and an L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Matheson is responsible for TerreStar's corporate planning and drives the technical direction and delivery for development of the satellite and network systems and handset technologies for TerreStar Networks. Prior to joining TerreStar, Mr. Matheson was the Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer for Motient, providing the technical direction for all services. His responsibilities included the ground station development and satellite operations for the L-band spectrum. Mr. Matheson previously was the Senior Manager of Systems Architecture for Bell Northern Research, a subsidiary of Northern Telecom and a leading provider of telecommunications equipment for both wireless and wireline applications. He has also held various engineering positions with Texas Instruments. Mr. Matheson holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Clemson University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee.
Mr. Loiacono is the Chief Financial Officer for TerreStar, and is responsible for the Company’s financial planning and analysis, and treasury activities. Mr. Loiacono joins TerreStar with over 25 years of finance, accounting, and operations experience. Prior to joining TerreStar, Mr. Loiacono was Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller of WorldSpace, Inc., a satellite-based radio and data broadcasting service, which operated in countries in Africa, Asia and Western Europe, where he was responsible for all global accounting activities, including compliance and controls, financial reporting, accounting transactional work processes and financial information systems, as well as financial standards, planning and financial support to its global businesses. He also successfully completed WorldSpace’s initial public offering of $221 million. Previously, Mr. Loiacono served in senior financial management roles in AT&T Government Solutions and Nextel Communications; and held senior manager and manager roles at public accounting firms KPMG and Deloitte and Touche. Mr. Loiacono has a bachelor of business degree in accounting from Bernard Baruch College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and District of Columbia Society of CPAs.
Douglas Brandon is General Counsel, Secretary and Senior Vice President for TerreStar Networks and its subsidiaries, responsible for the management of all legal matters and corporate development for the Company. Prior to joining TerreStar, Brandon was Vice President of External Affairs & Law, Chief Counsel for Federal Affairs, and Associate General Counsel at AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. Prior to AT&T Wireless; Brandon had been a Vice President of McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc. Brandon is a member of the New York, District of Columbia and Virginia (Corporate Counsel) Bars. He is also admitted to appear before the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, Ninth and District of Columbia Circuits. He was a law clerk to the Honorable William H. Timbers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Brandon received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from Vanderbilt University.
